The Drainable Fecal Collector for Incontinence features a softflex skin barrier. This product is used when a patient is incontinent. The Fecal Collector is secured to the perineum with the adhesive skin barrier. It can be used as a continual collection device, when attached to a tube which connects to a bedside receptacle. Instructions: Wash the perianal area with soap and water. Trim the perianal hair. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Close the attached drain cap on the collector. 1. Remove release paper sections numbered one and two. Fold the barrier in half. 2. Separate the patient's buttocks and place the narrowest portion of the exposed skin barrier against the perianal bridge. Press firmly to assure good adhesion. 3. Place the widest portion of the exposed barrier against the coccygeal area. Hold the barrier in place for 30 seconds to ensure good adhesion. Release buttocks. 4.
